From the farms
Finca Santa Cruz
La Concordia, Chiapas

Located between 1,400 and 1,700 meters above sea level in the municipality of La Concordia, Chiapas, bordering the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, Finca Santa Cruz is the work of three generations of the Argüello family — coffee grown inside the forest rather than in its place.
Three Cups of Excellence in a row
In 2019, 2021, and 2022, Finca Santa Cruz became the first Mexican farm to win the Cup of Excellence three consecutive times, scoring as high as 93 points — the top score across all eleven competing countries that year.
Coffee inside the forest
Of the farm's 250 hectares, only 95 are planted with coffee; the rest remains standing forest inside the biosphere reserve. Siblings José and Karina Argüello lead the farm today, continuing a family tradition while pushing into new processing experiments.
Variety
The farm grows Typica, Bourbon, Maragogipe, Yellow Caturra, Marsellesa, and Geisha, alongside experimental lots of SL-28, SL-34, Rume Sudan, Yellow Tabi, Maracaturra, and Java.
Process
Cherry is hand-picked and processed fully washed: pulped, fermented for 24 hours, then washed and sun-dried on patios for about 14 days.
Harvest
The harvest runs from November to March.
