Pour-over

Orea O1 pour-over

Our house pour-over on the flat-bottom Orea O1 — a 1:18 recipe with a 60 g bloom and three even pours for a clean, balanced cup.

Steps

  1. 1

Rinse the paper filter with hot water to remove any papery taste and preheat the Orea. Discard the rinse water.

  2. 2

Add 20 g of medium-ground coffee, level the bed, and tare your scale.

  3. 3

Bloom: pour 60 g of water at 93 °C and gently saturate all the grounds.

  4. 4

Once the bloom has drained, pour in slow spirals up to 160 g.

  5. 5

When that pour has drained, add water up to 260 g.

  6. 6

When it drains again, add water up to 360 g and let it draw down fully — the flat bed drains evenly.
